Snack Chat – Rafael Rozenson

In this exclusive Snack Chat interview, we get to know Rafael Rozenson, Founder of Vievé

How would your colleagues describe you in three words?

Protein. Water. Obsessed.

What does a perfect day off look like for you?

I like to start off the day with several cups of coffee and catching up on the news – although these days that is proving less and less enjoyable. Then I start with my morning meditations.

A perfect day would be one where I can stay on track and focused: as a founder I feel there are always so many “fires” I am putting out. Also finishing the day with some big wins which can take the shape of new retail listings, maybe a really great piece of content getting good engagement or a positive progress towards launching our next piece of NPD.

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?

Do what you love and the money will follow. One of my university professors told me that in business school and it has always stuck with me.

Early starts or late nights – which suits you better?

When I was younger I was definitely more into late nights and found that I did my best work in the evenings. As I get older though I am (scarily) turning more and more into a morning person. My bed times get earlier and earlier the older I get!

What’s one skill you’re currently trying to improve and why?

I’ve never been a great sales person so this year I am trying to develop more of a proper sales funnel and doing a better job of prospecting and approaching new customers.

What’s a hobby people might not expect you to have?

I had a career break a few years ago and took a year out to study songwriting and music production. I can play several instruments and have written and produced my own music which if you looked hard enough on the internet you can still find!

What motivates you most at work?

Seeing tangible results of all the hard work I put in as an entrepreneur is the most rewarding part. I love launching NPD and seeing it succeed (or fail lol!) in the market.

Sweet or savoury snack?

Definitely savoury I don’t have much of a sweet tooth!

What’s your favourite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?

When I’m not recovering from a heavy night out on Saturday then I like to go and check out all the top art exhibits in London. I frequently go to the Tate as I have a membership there.

If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be?

I’ve never had to manage a large team so I think being an effective leader would be a really key one for me.
