As its complete solutions partner, TNA delivered a full line for potato chips, capable of producing 300 kg per hour, supporting 24 SKUs and packaging speeds of 120 packs per minute. The integrated line covers every stage of the process, from washing, peeling, slicing, blanching and frying through to seasoning, distribution, weighing, metal detection, date coding and packaging.
Beyond equipment supply, TNA provided end-to-end guidance for the greenfield project, ensuring a confident market launch.

A new entrant with big ambitions

Fahad Mohammed Riaz, Vice Chairman, Mohammed Riaz & Partner LLC, has led the strategic expansion of MR into the FMCG sector. Under his vision, the group evolved from a trading enterprise into a modern industrial powerhouse. He launched the company’s first greenfield snack production line, in partnership with TNA Solutions.
As a first-time snack manufacturer, MR required more than machinery. The company sought a complete solutions partner with a single point of accountability for the entire line, deep application expertise, strong local support and reliable aftermarket capabilities.
“TNA’s consultative and collaborative approach was critical to the execution of the project,” said Fahad Mohammed Riaz. “The team supported us at every stage, from designing the layout to running the line, enabling a smooth product launch.”

Managing greenfield complexity

Developing a greenfield facility presented additional challenges. Factory layouts evolved several times, and the line needed to accommodate future expansion while avoiding bottlenecks and integrating seamlessly with other on-site operations.
Working closely with MR, TNA optimised layout, utilities and line configuration to ensure long-term scalability. The line incorporates the tna conti-pro PC 3 fryer, tna intelli-flav® OMS 5.1 seasoning system, tna roflo® VM3 vibratory motion distribution systems, the tna robag® 3e vertical form fill and seal system and other auxiliary equipment. It delivers speeds of up to 120 pillow bags per minute for 12g packs, ensuring consistent output and pack quality. Multipack formats are also supported through a dedicated stack.
“With TNA as our partner, we’ve been able to enter the snack market with confidence,” added Fahad Mohammed Riaz.

Flexibility for a competitive market

With legacy brands dominating the sector, Muscat Chips needed to differentiate through quality and variety. The line was therefore designed to handle multiple formats, including 12g and 65g packs, at consistently high speeds. The impact was immediate; Muscat Chips and Muscat Chips Crinklz successfully entered the Omani market. The new line supports multiple SKUs, maintaining consistent quality and production speeds across all variants. Building on this strong market entry, MR has already placed an order for a second potato chip line, underscoring both the success of the launch and the strength of its partnership with TNA Solutions.
“Supporting Mohammed Riaz & Partner LLC on its entry into the snack market was about more than delivering machinery,” said Palani Karai, General Manager – MENA, TNA Solutions. “We worked side by side to understand their ambitions, design a line that could evolve with the business and share the application know-how needed for a successful launch. For us, the real triumph is seeing a new brand like Muscat Chips establish itself on a strong footing in a competitive market and knowing the foundation is already in place for continued growth.”
