VDL Packaging will demonstrate its UVA Dynamic Twin Tube vertical form fill seal machine at PACK EXPO International 2026, highlighting a high-speed packaging solution designed to increase output while making efficient use of production floor space.
The company will exhibit at booth S-4083 during the event, which takes place from 18–21 October in Chicago.
Visitors will be able to see live demonstrations of the continuous-motion VFFS system, which is capable of producing up to 300 pillow bags per minute.
The machine combines two filling tubes with a single sealing jaw, enabling manufacturers to increase packaging throughput without requiring the footprint associated with two separate packaging systems.
VDL Packaging serves a range of markets including snacks, cereal and granola, confectionery, frozen food and fresh food, making the technology particularly relevant to manufacturers seeking higher-speed flexible packaging capabilities.
Twin-tube design increases throughput
At the centre of the UVA Dynamic Twin Tube is a configuration developed to balance production speed with efficient use of factory space.
Using two filling tubes alongside one sealing jaw enables the machine to produce two streams of packs while maintaining a compact overall design.
VDL Packaging said the system is intended for manufacturers looking to increase production capacity, improve packaging efficiency and optimise available floor space.
For snack producers, these priorities are increasingly important as manufacturers look to generate greater output from existing facilities while responding to changing pack sizes, product ranges and retail requirements.
Vertical form fill seal machinery remains widely used across the snack industry for products such as crisps, extruded snacks, nuts, popcorn and other free-flowing products packaged in flexible pillow bags.
Increasing the number of packs produced within the same production footprint can therefore provide manufacturers with an alternative to adding additional complete packaging lines when demand rises.
PACK EXPO visitors will be able to observe the Twin Tube running live and discuss individual packaging requirements with VDL Packaging’s technical specialists.
PACK EXPO focuses on future capacity
VDL Packaging is positioning its PACK EXPO participation around manufacturers planning future production growth and evaluating how new packaging technology can support increased capacity.
The company said the UVA Dynamic Twin Tube is particularly suited to businesses seeking high-speed, future-ready VFFS technology without substantially increasing the amount of floor space allocated to packaging.
This can be especially relevant to established snack factories where physical space may be limited and adding additional equipment can require costly changes to production layouts.
Alongside speed, packaging manufacturers are increasingly being asked to provide equipment capable of supporting efficient operation and consistent pack formation across high-volume manufacturing environments.
VDL Packaging’s portfolio includes both continuous- and intermittent-motion VFFS machinery as well as equipment for pillow, gusseted, block-bottom, corner-seal and other flexible bag formats.
The company forms part of VDL Groep and supplies packaging machinery to manufacturers across food and non-food industries.
Its appearance at PACK EXPO will give North American processors an opportunity to evaluate the Twin Tube system in operation while discussing opportunities to increase packaging performance and production capacity.
For industrial snack producers, the demonstration will highlight how twin-tube VFFS technology can help maximise throughput while limiting the additional factory space required for higher-volume packaging operations.
