TNA Solutions will give the tna robag® Quantum its exclusive North American preview at PACK EXPO International 2026, showcasing the next generation of its vertical form, fill and seal packaging platform ahead of its official release in 2027.
The technology will be presented at booth N-5109 during the exhibition, which takes place from 18–21 October at McCormick Place in Chicago.
Building on almost 45 years of development of the robag platform, the new system has been engineered to help food and snack manufacturers increase throughput, reduce waste and simplify packaging operations as they contend with rising production costs, labour shortages and increasingly complex product portfolios.
The tna robag Quantum is designed to achieve speeds of up to 300 bags per minute from a single tube, depending on the product, film and bag format.
Rather than requiring manufacturers to install additional bagmakers to boost capacity, TNA said the platform has been developed to generate greater output per tube, potentially enabling producers to increase capacity while maintaining a simpler overall packaging line.
Higher output targets changing snack formats
TNA said changing consumer preferences are increasing the number of packaging formats manufacturers need to accommodate, particularly as portion control, wellness trends and greater product variety encourage the introduction of smaller packs.
For snack manufacturers, these trends can require production lines to move between different products, flavours and pack sizes while maintaining throughput and controlling operating costs.
The robag Quantum aims to address this by combining high-speed operation with automated setup capabilities and simplified controls.
TNA has developed the platform around four priorities – easier, better, faster and smarter – with intelligent automation designed to reduce the need for time-consuming manual calibration.
Intuitive software and autonomous setup functions are also intended to reduce manufacturers’ reliance on highly specialised operators, helping businesses respond to skills shortages while simplifying employee training and onboarding.
The higher output available from a single tube could also help manufacturers increase production within existing factory footprints, potentially delaying the need for major investment in additional production space or multiple packaging machines.
TNA said the design can further support reduced maintenance requirements, simpler cleaning routines and lower levels of product and packaging-material waste.
Integrated approach connects the snack line
The robag Quantum will form part of TNA’s wider integrated processing and packaging ecosystem, which brings together distribution, seasoning and packaging technologies.
For snack producers, connecting these stages can help ensure that packaging performance remains aligned with upstream production as manufacturers change products, seasonings, flavours or pack formats.
This integrated approach is intended to give processors greater flexibility across the factory floor while maintaining overall line efficiency and minimising production interruptions.
Mukul Shukla, Vice President – North America at TNA Solutions, said manufacturers are increasingly being challenged to deliver greater output while protecting profitability and managing labour and operating-cost pressures.
The company believes the robag Quantum will provide manufacturers with a platform capable of supporting these changing production requirements while reducing overall line complexity.
TNA Solutions has more than 40 years of experience supplying food processing and packaging systems and has installed more than 16,000 systems across over 137 countries.
Its portfolio covers multiple stages of snack manufacturing, including conveying, distribution, seasoning, weighing and packaging.
The PACK EXPO preview will provide North American manufacturers with their first opportunity to see the robag Quantum before the platform’s wider commercial launch in 2027.
