Loma Systems, a global leader in food and packaging inspection technologies, launched its latest advancements at IFFA 2025, the world’s premier trade fair for the meat and alternative proteins industries.
On day 1 of the event, LOMA unveiled its two groundbreaking inspection systems that set a new benchmark for contaminant detection, food safety and production efficiency. Making their global debut, the IQ4M Metal Detector and the X5DE advanced Dual Energy X-ray Inspection System offer significant performance, connectivity and compliance advancements.
“We’re incredibly excited to introduce the IQ4M and X5DE at IFFA 2025,” said Ralph Mbanefo, International Sales and Service Director at Loma Systems. “These technologies represent a direct response to the real pressures faced by food manufacturers – from the need to minimise costly false rejects to meeting ever-tightening compliance demands and maximising line efficiency. Developed in collaboration with our customers, the IQ4M and X5DE go beyond traditional inspection, delivering smarter, more connected solutions that help drive operational performance and protect brand integrity.”
The IQ4M is an industry first, introducing Multi-Spectrum detection alongside LOMA’s patented Variable Frequency technology, delivering unmatched detection accuracy while significantly minimising false rejects across various food products. This powerful combination enables the system to select the optimal frequency for each product and examine the signal at multiple points simultaneously, ensuring superior contaminant detection even in demanding applications.
Designed with built-in RFID user access and enhanced connectivity as standard, the IQ4M supports secure, auditable performance and seamless compliance integration. Powered by a unique detection algorithm that reduces the signal size required to trigger a contaminant alert, the system finds smaller metal contaminants. Quicker recovery ensures faster signal stabilisation between product passes, reducing unnecessary false rejects and enhancing operational efficiency.
