Snack Connection Enhances Packaging Efficiency with Syntegon Automation

Netherlands-based snack manufacturer boosts flexibility and speed with Elematic 2001 WA case packer integration

Snack Connection, a manufacturer of nuts, kernels, and seeds based in the Netherlands, has partnered with Syntegon to significantly enhance its production efficiency and packaging flexibility. In response to rising global demand for snacks—particularly nuts—and the need to meet varied regional packaging preferences, Snack Connection has upgraded its operations with the integration of Syntegon’s Elematic 2001 wrap-around (WA) case packer alongside its existing SVE 2520 DZ vertical bagger.

This collaboration marks a milestone in Snack Connection’s drive toward more efficient, flexible, and sustainable packaging processes. The advanced combination of vertical bagging and end-of-line automation enables the company to seamlessly handle a broad range of packaging formats while maintaining cost-effective production.

Increased Speed and Efficiency Through Automation

Since implementing the Elematic 2001 WA, Snack Connection has achieved a notable increase in packaging speed—now reaching up to 40 cases per minute. This boost has allowed the company to optimise its warehouse logistics by reducing the number of required case formats, leading to lower storage costs. The case packer’s smart design also contributes to sustainability by minimising packaging material use without compromising on structural integrity.

Fast, Flexible Changeovers with Plug-and-Play Design

A key feature of the Elematic 2001 WA is its plug-and-play changeover capability. This tool-free changeover concept empowers operators to switch between packaging formats quickly and efficiently, enhancing operational agility and reducing downtime.

“As a private label manufacturer, we need to handle a variety of products in different formats,” said Kees Pieter van Vloten, Operations Director at Snack Connection. “The Syntegon solution enables us to do this while achieving higher efficiency and greater flexibility.”

The partnership between Snack Connection and Syntegon reflects a broader industry trend toward automation and integrated solutions, helping food manufacturers remain competitive in a fast-moving global market.
